BLACKBOARD
A) PURPOSE
BLACKBOARD is for students who are in the same class who wants to communicate and get to know people in the same class as them, but are too scared or feel too awkward to ask the people in their class for their social media details. Through BLACKBOARD, you won't need to ask for your classmate's details. Those who are in your class will already have an account set up on the website/app when they consent to the option when they apply to the school/college/university that you all attend. All it takes to message them is to log in and join in on each of the subject's chat. The website will also give you the option to create custom group-chats from people in each of your classes- the aim is to formulate a large web of contacts by the time you finish your time at the institute you are attending.

B) FORMAT / STYLE / FUNCTIONALITY
The website will include a lot of functions which are for the benefit of the students using it. The landing page will include a large clock at the top right hand corner, and will feature easy-to-read subject cubes which will have red notifications on its corners that will signify the amount of unread messages that are from each subject. Once the user logs into their account, the notice board will pop up with icons for tools such as the calendar, reminders, link to emails and textbooks, homework that are due, contacts, friend requests, deadlines and plenty more which are all tied to the user's education. There will also be a search bar underneath the title so the user can find messages, group chats, homework and to help them navigate the network much easier.
C) TARGET USER / MEMBERSHIP
The targeted users for this website are students ranging from Primary School to University, that way the users are able to stay in touch with old classmates- even if they go off to a different location for their studies. A recent study found that 95% of students said that they want to use their phone in class for academic purposes. The Student Pulse Survey from Top Hat, conducted by independent research firm Survata, polled 520 college students about digital devices, textbooks and learning. The survey found that a large number of students - 75 percent - believe that using personal devices in the classroom has improved their ability to learn and retain information.
These statistics show that the social app that I want to create could potentially be very helpful for students in terms of making sure they are organised, connected and supported if ever they face any problems with any of their works.

ERRANDS.
A) PURPOSE
errands. is an app where you can pay a small fee to have other people run your errands for you. The app will be for those who don't have much time in their days but can't afford to have a personal assistant 24/7. The app will make tasks quick and easy- with the user choosing specific tasks to get done by the professionals.
B) FORMAT / STYLE / FUNCTIONALITY
The app will be like Tinder meets LinkedIn. The user will be able to post up a notice board for the work you want done and the website will gather a bunch of professionals which the user will get to swipe left and right for. If they match with the professionals, that means that they are up for doing the job for the user. Those who match will be given the functionality to exchange details etc. For the safety of every person that is a part of the process, the people that are setting the errands will need to have a track record and will be rated like the functionalities in Uber and the same will apply for the 'professionals' who would also need to be checked for their credentials in the field that they are allocated to.
C) TARGET USER / MEMBERSHIP
The targeted users for the website are those who are in need of help when getting certain tasks and errands done due to the fact that they don't have much time in their day-to-day lives such as mums or people who are really busy due to special events / occasions.
The market already has some successful errand service websites like 'Pink-Spaghetti' which offer its users services from around £6 per errand, and 'TaskRabbit' which focuses more on home service in comparison to 'Pink-Spaghetti'.
D) MOCK UP
COLAB
A) PURPOSE
CoLab is an app for people in the creative industry to network with each other and collaborate on music, videos, photography, graphic design, etc. The intent is to make collaboration easier for people in the creative industry as well to give them a platform to feature their work in order to get recognised.
B) FORMAT / STYLE / FUNCTIONALITY
CoLab's style will be a mixture of Instagram, LinkedIn and Spotify- with competitions and the best projects from the users being featured on the website. The musicians will be able to create a portfolio similar to Instagram and they will be categorised into certain creative fields so it's easier to find them. This means that if a musician is looking for someone to help him create an album cover, they can just simply click over to the 'artist' category and the 'photography' category to help him find the right people who can help him. Once a collaboration is done, the users can be rated for the work that they do and can also be recommended to other users and followers of those they have worked with (similar to how you would rate Uber Drivers).
C) TARGET USER / MEMBERSHIP
The targeted users for the website are those who work in the creative industry that want to collaborate with other people and get their work featured and seen by others.
In terms of statistics, a Stanford University study from a few years ago found that even the mere perception of working collectively on a task can supercharge performance. They found that participants in the research who were primed to act collaboratively stuck at their tasks 64% longer than their solitary peers, whilst also reporting higher engagement levels, lower fatigue levels and a higher success rate. What's more, is that this impacted persisted for several weeks. This shows that my product could potentially be very helpful for those who constantly find themselves having mind-blocks -helping the users in being more productive and engaged with creating new and innovative content.
